Ammunition and Guy
a marriage for life
Guynius Consult, the short story
Guynius Consult is run by Guy Moeraert.
Guy served 33 years at the Belgian Armed Forces before working 6,5 years at the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). His whole career was -and it still is- dedicated to Ammunition & Explosives (A&E).
From the technical part of Life Cycle Management, over Explosive Safety, to the procurement of A&E… and this in both national and international environments.
Guy Moeraert is one of the architects of the doctrine on
‘In Service Surveillance of Munitions’ which is embedded in STANAG 4675 and its underlying AOPs. Becoming a senior he reoriented his focus to take care of homeland Explosive Safety but also in support of troops during operational deployment. Explosive Licensing, Explosive Siting, Surveys, Process Management, Risk Analysis,…it all became part of his domain of expertise.
Some of the more relevant trainings, courses and experiences:
- ‘Weapon Safety Manager’ at Lackland Airforce Base in Texas,
- Active member of the NATO think tank covering AASTPs (Sg of AC 326),
- Architect of the Modular ISS system for less and medium complex munitions (STANAG 4675),
- Several courses at Cranfield University on ‘Design for Munitions Safety’, Insensitive Munitions, weapons design,
- Prince 2 Management principles,
- Statistics
- Measurement uncertainty
- Rich experience in the field of procurement (wide network among Industry, MODs, Ammunition Technicians).
Guy is known for his pragmatic approach, his sound decisions, ability to lead a team, out of the box thinking and the ‘Belgian DNA’ allowing him to go for the best compromise when discussions are drifting in choppy water.
But make no mistake, Guynius Consult is more than a one-man company. Depending on the file, Guynius Consult immediately surrounds itself with international experts in sub-domains and thus forms the task force you need.
